A great milestone to crown a great career

The Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers has honored our CEO and founder, Juanjo Martínez Pagan with the Cybersecurity Award, for his contribution to the development of cybersecurity in Spain and for founding ThousandGuards, a company dedicated to supporting CISOs and cybersecurity startups.


Juanjo spoke about the evolution of cybersecurity, describing its transition from a purely technological discipline to a key element in protecting people’s everyday lives. He also expressed his satisfaction in being able to build bridges between innovative cybersecurity startups and the professionals whose mission is to safeguard critical infrastructures.


The awardee encouraged younger generations to develop their work, purpose, and vocation in the field of cybersecurity and to pursue careers in the sector. He also emphasized that this recognition motivates him to continue contributing with even greater determination to the development of cybersecurity in Spain in pursuit of cyber resilience.



With an educational background that spans from the Polytechnic University of Madrid to Harvard Business School, Juanjo Martínez Pagan has built a career dedicated to the technology sector over several decades, with experience at Sun Microsystems, Cabletron, Infoblox, Oracle, and others. He has also worked as an advisor to Spanish CISOs and cybersecurity startups, helping promote their solutions in international markets.
